Puma sneaker – Technical illustration for production planning

Question:

How can the internal components and functional relationships of technical products be shown without losing the external context and product shape? Pure sectional views remove important points of orientation – but the viewer must also understand how the interior and exterior views are connectedHow can the design details, material layers and manufacturing processes of a sneaker be precisely documented for production planning? Development teams, production planners and manufacturing partners need exact representations of sectional views, material structures and design details – flexibly adaptable for different model variants.

Solution:

Technical illustrations for production planning were created for Puma – originally drawn by hand with the highest level of detail. Today, cutaway models are largely visualized on the basis of existing 3D data. The decisive advantage: the models can be quickly presented in different variants, perspectives and sectional planes – without having to redraw them each time. Flexibility, consistency and rapid adaptability for production planning, production documentation and supplier communication.
