E-Bike Concept Animation

Question:

Together with young designer Fabian Schray, who was in charge of the concept and design, we translated his ideas into moving images. In addition to the aspects of well thought-out design, attention was also paid to the various functions that make the messenger’s everyday work easier. Rethinking the bicycle in the 21st century! Metropolitan areas will experience tremendous growth in this century. Increasing population density and the resulting overloading of the infrastructure will cause private transport and delivery traffic to collapse. There will be a need for new mobility concepts. Berlin in 2030 is facing precisely such challenges. Service providers’ supply chains are reaching their limits. The Messenger Bike addresses precisely these issues. Modern materials and innovative drive technologies generate an effective workflow for the delivery services of tomorrow. With its lightweight carbon fiber frame and innovative graphene battery, this electric bike is a flyweight and is becoming increasingly interesting for the bike messenger of tomorrow, even for longer journeys.

Solution:

In this scenario, the adapted design finds its ideal environment. In narrow street canyons, it moves agilely from receiver to receiver and reliably supports the messenger in his work. An integrated aramid fiber lock in the rear part of the bike frame eliminates the need to carry a separate lock. In addition, the bike is clearly visible at any time of day or night thanks to LED light units and indicators, which increases the rider’s safety. A central interface on the bike’s handlebars enables the courier to use his smartphone to organize delivery chains, navigate through complex city districts and, above all, communicate with the main headquarters. The innovative design of the bike is also noticeable: deflated tires are kept stable by a hard rubber structure inside the inner tubes. Never get a flat tire again! Thanks to its architecture, which is similar to that of a racing bike, and its uncompromising lightweight construction, the Bote can reach top speeds of up to 80 km/h with support. In addition to the thrill of speed, riding pleasure is also generated by form. The shape and aesthetics are based on the design of the models of a well-known German car manufacturer.
